It’s Black Friday, the kids are playing and Brian is putting together the guest bed for our “office-nursery” while he watches his favorite team, the Chiefs, take on the Raiders. I took a break from client work to write this article for our December Newsletter after my assistant reminded me again today. It’s making me slow down for a moment to reflect on what I’d like to share and create with those of you who read my newsletter. With the hustle of work and a baby on the way, this Real Estate Mompreneur has a lot on her plate. But in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I am immensely grateful for the overflow of opportunities, love and leftovers.

This year, I participated in my first Pie Giveaway as a real estate broker—something I should’ve done years ago. Instead of working in my business, I got to spend the whole day before Thanksgiving driving from home to home hand-delivering pies to past clients and referral partners. No kids. Just me and a trunk full of gratitude. It was nice having the space to ruminate on whatever wanted to arise and to simply be.

For the first half of 2024, most of my time and attention went into caring for my dad (and my mom). Everything else took a backseat, including my business. At the same time, the nature of my profession allowed me the flexibility with time and resources to be present with my family during such a pivotal period. And when he passed while I was on tour with a client, I didn’t feel like I needed to be there because I had been there the whole time. My dad’s transition—from the moment we found out that he had a tumor in his brain til…well, this day—has been and continues to be a profound spiritual experience for me. While we spent our first Thanksgiving without him, his love and his lessons still lingers.

So as we approach a new year, I continue to celebrate his spirit as I am preparing for a new soul to join our family. This reminds me that life and everything in it is cyclical. We get a new opportunity every year, every season, everyday and even every moment. We get to pivot, shift and make choices that align with our purpose and move us closer to what we desire.

Everyday, I get to help people cultivate home for themselves and their families. What’s next for me is to help people experience home within themselves—and I plan on doing more of that in everything I do.

Love always,

Ranny
